A New Year brings renewed hope and we will kick the 2021 off with our first social event, the annual WAV Paint Night!
Grab some friends and join the Women Against Violence committee for a fun night of painting with instructor Heather Donis of Virginia Beach! Grab your favorite wine or cocktail and Paint with members of WAV for a great cause – a portion of all registration sales go to support Samaritan House and their work to support survivors of violence. Your registration with purchase of a kit includes the paint necessary for the painting we will be doing that night as well as 3 brushes, an 11′ x 14″ canvas and paper plate to use as your palette. Each registration is good for one person. Kits can be purchased separately if preferred (a detailed item list is included upon registration.)
Our instructor for the evening, Heather Donis, was born and raised in Virginia Beach in the year 1972. When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up the answer was always the same, an artist. She went to University of Maryland and studied
Fine Arts and completed her Bachelor’s degree at Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in Art Education. Deciding not to teach, Heather attended Tidewater’s Visual Art Center and earned an AAS in Graphic Design and worked as a designer until the birth of her son in 2009. She left her job in 2010 and has been pursuing a fine arts career ever since along the way creating her own business doing Mobile Paint Parties called Heather Donis Designs Mobile Paint Parties.
Women Against Violence, (WAV) is a select group of community leaders and professionals committed to supporting Samaritan House’s mission to stop violence; whether domestic, sexual or trafficking. Each year, WAV hosts a luncheon to encourage survivors of violence, and empower supporters to take action and become advocates for change. This year’s WAV Luncheon is slated for October 2021, so save the date and contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like more info!
