Whether you choose to sign up as a monthly donor, make a one-time contribution, or donate your time or items to Samaritan House, you are making a tremendous impact by helping families in crisis in Hampton Roads. Many clients come to Samaritan House with only the clothes on their backs. We rely on the generosity of the community to ensure our clients have the necessities to begin to heal. Your donation makes a tremendous impact by helping families in crisis in Hampton Roads.

Current needs as of August 21, 2023:

  • Boxed new dish sets
  • Metal silverware sets
  • Pull-up style undergarments, sizes 2T, 3T, and 4T
  • Diapers size 5 and 6
  • Women's sport bras sizes sm, med, leg, x-lrg, and xx-lrg
  • Women's underwear: all sizes
  • New Blankets: twin and full

We take food donations for our emergency shelters as well as for our clients who progress to permanent housing.

Gift cards are always greatly appreciated, as they are utilized to purchase work uniforms, and basic household items, and supplement our Nutrition Assistance Program.

On-site Donation Department

Open Monday - Friday from 10 am – 3 pm

2620 Southern Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA (off 264 at the Lynnhaven North exit).

When you arrive, please park and unload in the designated spot located on the left-hand side of the main admin building.  

Please note that currently, we cannot accept donations of used toys, towels, bed linens, or undergarments.

Schedule a Pick Up

For large or heavy items, please call our partner, Thrift Store City at (757) 583-7211 to schedule a pick-up of your items.  Thrift Store City will accept donations of clothing, kitchenware, shoes, pictures, flat-screen TVs, knick-knacks, and collapsible metal bed frames. Thrift Store City can no longer accept donations of beds, mattresses and footboards/headboards, china cabinets, entertainment centers/armoires, tables without chairs, and servers/buffets.

Peer to Peer Giving and Item Drives

If your organization or business is interested in hosting a peer-to-peer giving campaign, planning an item drive, or volunteering, we would love to chat about how we can help you make the biggest impact in our community.
