FUNDING AWARDED TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING SHELTER FOR MINORS FOR A MULTI-PURPOSE COURT
"The Hallow by Samaritan House," the first shelter for victims of human trafficking ages 11-17 years old in Eastern Virginia, has been awarded $200,000 to build a multi-purpose court for their clients. Read more.

SHINING A LIGHT ON SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Samaritan House will be rolling out the red carpet to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence, trafficking, and homelessness on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The "Step Into the Light" gala will be hosted at Rivers Casino Portsmouth, serving as a celebration and testament to the resilience of these survivors. Local dignitaries from Portsmouth and surrounding localities will be in attendance, showing their support for community members impacted by domestic violence. Read more.

A PERFECT STORM IS BREWING IN VIRGINIA AS THE IMPACT OF DRASTIC CUTS TO THE VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT (VOCA) AND THE INCREASE IN NEED PUTS VICTIMS IN HAMPTON ROADS AT RISK
The purpose of this news conference is to discuss how cuts to Virginia’s funding from the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) and discretionary Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) funding will harm the safety net for victims in all of Hampton Roads and put them at risk.
